PUBLICATION ETHICS

The purpose of the following provisions is to present the ethical principles to be adhered to by authors, editors, and peer reviewers. Although these principles are already widely known and upheld in the academic community, the explicit statement here allows Acta Koreana to reaffirm its academic integrity and to enhance its own pursuit of academic probity and excellence.

1. Plagiarism

Authors must not present the results of the research or opinions of others as if they were their own. Although it is possible to make multiple references that clearly identified, any material presented as though it were the results of the author’s own research or opinions will be considered plagiarism. Self-plagiarism, including the reuse of one’s previously published work without proper citation or acknowledgment, is also strictly prohibited.

2. A.I. Use

The author must disclose whether and how A.I. has been used in the preparation of the manuscript. The editorial committee reserves the right to verify all references and may request documentation or copies of cited works during the review process. If a manuscript is found to contain unverifiable or fabricated citations, it will be withdrawn.

3. Publication Achievements

Authors are solely responsible for the research that they have actually carried out or directly contributed to and are also entitled to receive recognition for it as their own achievement.

4. Republication of Research or Duplicate Publication

Articles that have already been published in, or are under consideration by, other journals may not be submitted to this journal. Likewise, articles published in or under consideration by Acta Koreana may not be submitted to or published in other journals.

5. Citations

The authors must clearly cite all sources referenced in the article. When quoting another person’s words or borrowing or referring to another person’s ideas, proper attribution must be provided, and full references to sources must be included in footnotes.

6. Editorial Committee

The editorial committee will consider submitted articles on the sole basis of the scholarly quality of the article and the established provisions for submission. In order to evaluate submitted articles, the committee will appoint qualified scholars with relevant subject-matter expertise.

7. Penalties

Manuscripts found to violate research ethics will be withdrawn by the editorial committee. Authors who violate these provisions may be prohibited from submitting to the journal. Any additional issues will be decided on by the editorial committee.
